Just the Basics
Would you like to prevent diabetes? Or have you recently been diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes? This workshop includes a discussion of the basic facts about managing diabetes, healthy eating, and physical activity. We encourage people to bring a friend/family member for support.
Yoga
Yoga has many benefits such as increasing flexibility, improving breathing, helping with balance and helping one to live a healthy and stress free lifestyle. Yoga is a floor based program. Beginners - April 6th to June 29th | 10am to 11am | $36 for 12 weeks Gentle Yoga - April 6th to June 29th | 11:15am to 12:15pm | $36 for 12 week (no class Monday May 18th)                                                                                                Gentle Yoga - April 9th to June 25th | 11:15am to 12:15pm | $36 for 12 week Intermediate Gentle Yoga - April 8th to June 24th | 5pm to 6pm and 6pm to 7pm| $36 for 12 weeks

Relax and Renew – Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga focuses on relaxation of the mind and body. Bolsters, straps and other props will be used to support the body in various postures which allows one to move towards a state of balance. Mondays April 6th to June 29th (no class May 18th) | $36 for 12 weeks
Falls Prevention
This class is offered through Community Care Northumberland. These classes are designed to work on strength and balance for seniors. These classes also include an educational component designed to help you decrease the negative effects and potential injuries associated with falls and near falls.
Nordic Pole Walking
Come out and join our trained Nordic Pole Walking instructors as they take you on a 30-45 minute walk around the neighbourhood. No experience necessary. (seasonal)

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is an 8 week program especially useful in managing diffi cult, persistent emotion. MBCT combines the ideas of cognitive behavioral therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness.
Youth Drop In
This after-school program is provided to youth in grades 7 to 12 at the Community Health Centres of Northumberland at 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope, every Tuesday starting at 2:45pm. This program is offered in partnership with the Municipality of Port Hope, Rebound and the Port Hope Police Services. Tuesday's September 17th 2019 to June 16th 2020 | 2:45pm to 4:30pm

Men’s Cooking Club Series A
Calling all gents who enjoy being in the kitchen! This class is open to any man who has participated in the ‘Men’s Cooking Club’ before or who enjoys food and is looking to increase their cooking skills and confidence. Participants may signup for either group A or group B, as both groups will cook the same meals. These classes are hands on and we always enjoy the delicious food together. $5 per class.
Active Fit and Fun
Designed for community members ages 55+ who are wishing to improve their cardio, strength, balance and flexibility regardless of their current ability level. The program will be led by trained volunteers, who ensure the program is run in a safe manner. Classes can be done seated or standing.
Dance For Parkinsons
This class integrates movement from ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary dance techniques to stretch and strengthen the body, improve posture and balance and engage the mind. Thinking like a dancer helps participants regain physical confidence in their own bodies. Classes are taught by experienced dance educators/dance artists. This class is also suitable for those living with MS, A.B.I and Stroke. Caregivers are encouraged to attend. April 1st to June 3rd | $60 for participants and $40 for caregivers | 10 week series
Falls Prevention
This class is offered through Community Care Northumberland. These classes are designed to work on strength and balance for seniors. These classes also include an educational component designed to help you decrease the negative effects and potential injuries associated with falls and near falls.
Hoarding Support Group
To provide a positive, welcoming venue where people who have hoarding issues can speak freely and openly, and learn new skills to help themselves cope. The group meets on the second Wednesday of each month. to find out if this group is right for you call 905-885-2626 ext 280.
Simplified Tai Chi – Beginners
Tai chi is a system of gentle exercise based on the principle of effortless breathing, rhythmic movement and weight balance. It gives attention to muscular strength, flexibility, breathing, relaxation, endurance and mental focusing. April 8th to June 24th | $36 for 12 weeks

Please Note: During this time the Food Cupboard is closed to onsite visits. Prearranged pick ups and deliveries of food baskets are still being offered to those in need in the Port Hope area. Chair Yoga
Using the aid of a chair our yoga instructor will guide you through a series of movements. Poses are done seated or the chair is used for support during standing poses and bends. April 9th to June 25th | 1pm to 2pm | $36 for 12 weeks
Type 1 Diabetes Support Group
On the 2nd Thursday of every month, come and meet other people that are living some of the similar experiences that you are. Through encouraging each other, sharing ideas and talking about your experiences you can find new ways to cope with Type 1 Diabetes in your life! 18+

Dining In Season – Diabetes Cooking
Diabetes Cooking Workshops are hands-on cooking classes which are offered to those living with prediabetes, type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Each workshop will be conducted by a Registered Dietitian, who is also a Certified Diabetes Educator.
Powerful Tools For Caregivers
Free six week Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a class series designed to help family caregivers take better care of themselves while caring for a family member or friend.
