Growing with our community—together. Because investing in prevention, connection, and innovation strengthens the whole community.
As Northumberland County grows and evolves, so do community needs. CHCN’s Community Expansion fund supports the growth of children and youth programs, community connection initiatives, and innovative new services responding to identified gaps.
From youth drop-ins and skill-building programs, to social prescribing and emerging community partnerships, your gift helps CHCN reach more people, in more places, with meaningful support.
The Youth Drop In program is a FREE drop in program run in partnership with the Municipality of Port Hope, Port Hope High School and Community Health Centres of Northumberland.
This year the program will be run out of the Wellness Room at Port Hope High School every Thursday throughout the school year, after school from 2:45pm to 5:00pm. The aim is to provide a warm, welcoming, fun environment, free from judgement open to anyone from grade 7 to 12.
Youth do not have to be students at Dr. Hawkins or Port Hope High School to attend. There are snacks, activities ranging from arts and crafts, games, gym days, life skills, cooking, gardening, resume writing, guest speakers, and much more!
