Stroke Survivor and ABI Support Group

Community Health Centres of Northumberland 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope, Ontario

On the first Friday morning of each month from 10:30am to 12pm we invite all stroke survivors, those living with ABI and caregivers to meet and provide mutual support and encouragement. This is an open group so please join us.

Collective Kitchen for Single Older Adults

Community Health Centres of Northumberland 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope, Ontario

This group meets once a month and creates three main dishes, one soup or one salad to take away. We assign tasks and duties as a group. Please bring your own containers suitable for freezing and reheating. This is a hands on workshop. Food Costs $8 per session.

Mindfulness Based Chronic Pain Management

Community Health Centres of Northumberland 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope, Ontario

Attendees learn the principles of mindfulness meditation, the importance of living in the moment, and how these skills can reduce both physical and emotional suffering. Course materials are $100 – assistance is available to those where cost is a barrier. Tuesday September 10th to December 17th | 1:30pm to 3:30pm

Active Fit and Fun

Community Health Centres of Northumberland 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope, Ontario

Designed for community members ages 55+ who are wishing to improve their cardio, strength, balance and flexibility regardless of their current ability level. The program will be led by trained volunteers, who ensure the program is run in a safe manner. Classes can be done seated or standing.

Just the Basics

Would you like to prevent diabetes? Or have you recently been diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes? This workshop includes a discussion of the basic facts about managing diabetes, healthy eating, and physical activity. We encourage people to bring a friend/family member for support.
