Food Cupboard Update

In Person Shopping Model Back In Action

We are happy to announce that the CHCN Food Cupboard has returned to an in-person shopping model which will allow community members to come and choose which foods or products are desired and or needed.

As a health centre, our goal is to make as many fresh and whole foods available to community members – with a focus on local produce as much as possible. With the prices of food continuing to rise, we have put an emphasis on offering these foods with hopes that it can provide some relief on individuals’ food budget. We are able to purchase these foods from local vendors thanks in large part to the very generous monetary donations that continue to be given to our food programs and we cannot thank the community enough for these contributions!

As a reminder, community members in need of support around food are welcome to visit our Food Cupboard on Thursdays from 9:30am – 12:30pm. No appointments are needed and there will always be a welcome space for individuals to enjoy a coffee and or snack!

Please bring your own reusable bags or boxes. We are located at 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope – Main Floor in the Multi-purpose room.

Donations Always Welcome

Our Fresh Food Campaign is back! We are hoping that you can help us to meet our target this year of ensuring our food cupboard offers a minimum of 7-9 different fruits and veggies each week. By supporting our food cupboard each month, you are helping local community members and families access fresh fruit, vegetables, and protein.

With your help, a $20.00 sponsorship will ensure that our food cupboard offers fresh fruit, vegetables, and protein to community members each week.

Sponsorship can be one-time or monthly! Monthly donations are greatly appreciated. To learn more, please contact Adam at 905-885-2626 ext. 235.
