Job Summary
The Operations Lead – Funding & Strategic Initiatives supports the Executive Director and management team in advancing the strategic priorities of the Community Health Centre of Northumberland (CHCN). This role coordinates fundraising initiatives, grant development, organizational projects, and operational improvements while strengthening internal processes that support staff development, program implementation, and organizational sustainability. The position also supports privacy and records management functions within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Funding Development & Strategic Initiatives
- Support the Executive Director in implementing CHCN’s fundraising and funding development strategy.
- Research and identify grant opportunities, sponsorships, and other potential funding sources.
- Coordinate development of grant proposals and funding applications in collaboration with staff.
- Track funding opportunities, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Support donor stewardship and community engagement initiatives.
Operational Leadership & Project Coordination
- Provide operational and project coordination support to the Executive Director.
- Lead and coordinate special projects that support strategic priorities and organizational growth.
- Support implementation of program evaluation findings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist the management team with accreditation-related initiatives and operational improvements.
Organizational Capacity Building
- Develop and support a structured student placement program.
- Coordinate staff education and professional development opportunities.
- Develop and implement a staff education funding application and approval process.
- Support documentation and improvement of operational processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Privacy & Records Management Support
- Serve as Privacy Officer Assistant in accordance with PHIPA and CHCN privacy policies.
- Collaborate with staff and management in responding to privacy-related requests.
- Support investigation and documentation of privacy concerns or potential breaches.
- Escalate privacy issues to leadership where required.
- Assist in developing and improving privacy and records management processes.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Support development of partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders.
- Assist with community engagement and outreach initiatives.
- Participate in relevant community meetings or collaborative initiatives.
Organizational Responsibilities
- Work in alignment with CHCN’s mission, vision, and values.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to CHCN privacy and information management policies.
- Promote safe work practices and comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Participate in staff meetings, organizational planning, and team initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Position Status: This is a Non-Bargaining Unit position.
- Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week
- Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000, plus participation in HOOPP
- Positions Report to: Executive Director
- Primary work location: Onsite, Port Hope
Experience
Qualifications
- A university degree or college diploma in business administration, nonprofit management, health administration, social sciences, or related experience.
- Experience in the nonprofit or community health sector.
- 3–5 years of experience leading operations, project management, quality and process improvement.
- Knowledge of funding development in the nonprofit or community health sector.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience and knowledge of change management practices and support large teams
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and community-centered approaches.
- Experience with privacy legislation and records management processes within a healthcare or nonprofit environment is considered an asset.
