Community Health Promoter – Full-Time, Permanent

The Community Health Centres of Northumberland (CHCN) operates within a comprehensive Model of Health and Wellbeing, which includes the provision of quality Primary Health Care services and programs oriented to meet the specific needs of the people living in the community. We promote Health Equity and Social Justice to reduce health disparities and inequities by advocating for healthier public policy,  and we work with community members to ensure Community Vitality and Belonging by building safe and caring communities where everyone is valued.

The Health Promoter creates, coordinates, and implements the health education/promotion/social prescribing programs for Northumberland community residents. This includes facilitating the integration of a health promotion focus in CHCN activities as a member of the Centre’s interdisciplinary team.  This position works collaboratively with community groups and partners using a community development model.  This position is further expected to be available at hours that are flexible and accommodate our community members and volunteers.  This may mean early morning and evening hours as well as weekend time upon occasion.
