Come out and join our trained Nordic Pole Walking instructors as they take you on a 30-45 minute walk around the neighbourhood. No experience necessary. (seasonal)

Pizza Party – Diabetes Cooking

Community Health Centres of Northumberland 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope, Ontario

Diabetes Cooking Workshops are hands-on cooking classes which are offered to those living with prediabetes, type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Each workshop will be conducted by a Registered Dietitian, who is also a Certified Diabetes Educator.

Men’s Cooking Club Series A

Calling all gents who enjoy being in the kitchen! This class is open to any man who has participated in the ‘Men’s Cooking Club’ before or who enjoys food and is looking to increase their cooking skills and confidence. Participants may signup for either group A or group B, as both groups will cook the same meals. These classes are hands on and we always enjoy the delicious food together. $5 per class.

Carb Counting – Diabetes

Come and learn about what carbohydrates are and why they are important in diabetes management. We will teach how to read a food label and count your carbs to help get better control of your blood sugars and eat a balanced meal!

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is an 8 week program especially useful in managing diffi cult, persistent emotion. MBCT combines the ideas of cognitive behavioral therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness.

Ladies Social Gatherings

Throughout the year the CHC hosts themed social gatherings for ladies where we enjoy a chat, a cuppa and some games. Such themes include a fall tea, christmas treats, winter tea, spring tea and a Canada day party. Registration is required

Free six week Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a class series designed to help family caregivers take better care of themselves while caring for a family member or friend. Active Fit and Fun – Virtual Program

Led by trained volunteers in a safe manner, Active, Fit & Fun is designed for community members age 55+ seeking to improve their strength, balance, and flexibility regardless of their current fitness level.
