Active Fit and Fun

Community Health Centres of Northumberland 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope, Ontario

Designed for community members ages 55+ who are wishing to improve their cardio, strength, balance and flexibility regardless of their current ability level. The program will be led by trained volunteers, who ensure the program is run in a safe manner. Classes can be done seated or standing.

Osteoporosis Support Group

Community Health Centres of Northumberland 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope, Ontario

You will gain practical information in the monthly meetings, meet others living with Osteoporosis and share common experiences. We cover a variety of topics such as nutrition, safe exercises when living with Osteoporosis and more. Chair Yoga

Using the aid of a chair our yoga instructor will guide you through a series of movements. Poses are done seated or the chair is used for support during standing poses and bends. April 9th to June 25th | 1pm to 2pm | $36 for 12 weeks

Type 1 Diabetes Support Group

On the 2nd Thursday of every month, come and meet other people that are living some of the similar experiences that you are. Through encouraging each other, sharing ideas and talking about your experiences you can find new ways to cope with Type 1 Diabetes in your life! 18+

Would you like to prevent diabetes? Or have you recently been diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes? This workshop includes a discussion of the basic facts about managing diabetes, healthy eating, and physical activity. We encourage people to bring a friend/family member for support.

Women’s Crafty Mondays

On the third Monday of every month women of all ages and stages are welcome to join us as we work on collective projects and activities, which foster mutual support and friendship in a fun, positive space. The teapot will be on!

On the third Thursday of each month our amazing Soup Sisters will be offering a bowl of delicious soup and a roll. Join us for soup and a chat in the multipurpose room. Suggested donation of $2.

Caregiver Support Group

Have you completed the Powerful Tools for Caregivers workshop? Are you looking to connect with other caregivers? This support group meets the third Friday of every month and provides support, follow-up and information for caregivers.

Mexican Fiesta – Diabetes Cooking

Community Health Centres of Northumberland 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope, Ontario

Diabetes Cooking Workshops are hands-on cooking classes which are offered to those living with prediabetes, type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Each workshop will be conducted by a Registered Dietitian, who is also a Certified Diabetes Educator.
