2021-2022 Virtual Annual General Meeting

YOU’RE INVITED!! You’re invited to attend the Community Health Centres of Northumberland (CHCN) virtual Annual General Meeting on Monday June 27, 2022 at 5:00pm on Zoom. Movement and Motion

Designed for community members age 55+, who are wishing to improve their balance and range of motion regardless of their current ability level. The program will be led by trained volunteers, who ensure the program is run in a safe manner. Classes can be done seated or standing. Designed for community members ages 55+ who are wishing to improve their cardio, strength, balance and flexibility regardless of their current ability level. Ursula will guide you through a floor based yoga practice from the comfort of your own home. Yoga has many benefits such as increasing flexibility, improving breathing, and helping one to live a healthy and stress-free lifestyle. Participants of all fitness levels welcome. Yin Yang Yoga – Virtual

A Yin Yang Yoga class blends two styles of yoga in one practice. It brings together the benefits of longer stretch poses with traditional hatha sequences to work on strength, flexibility and stamina. By balancing your Yin and Yang your energy flow will increase, giving you a peaceful balanced mind and body. Chair Yoga – Virtual

Using the aid of a chair our yoga instructor will guide you through a series of movements. Poses are done seated or the chair is used for support during standing poses and bends. Plants to Plates – In Person

Plants to Plates is a food education program for children which was developed by the Ecology Action Centre. This program takes a “Plants to Plates” approach, pairing kitchen skill building with garden activities and making connections between how food is grown and how to prepare nutritious, tasty meals. *Receive a kitchen tool with each class to build your own beginner set* Mondays July 11th to August 22nd (no class Aug 1st) 10:00am to 12:00pm 6 Sessions (Sign up for one or all six) Ages 7 to 10 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope (Community Kitchen) $5 per class To register email [email protected] or call 905-885-2626 ext 280 (Leave your name, phone number, names and ages of kids and what you would like to sign up for)

This FREE summer program is offered to ages 8 to 11. Participants will have the opportunity to learn dance skills in jazz and hip-hop. The classes will include a fun warm-up, stretching and technique, dance combinations to all the best music and some fun activities. Put on those dancing shoes and come join us! Needed for the class: Running shoes or bare feet (no socks). Home Alone Course

This FREE virtual course will provide youth with the skills and knowledge that will assist them in being confident about staying home alone. Through interactive games and activities participants will learn about how to stay safe in various situations and what to do in case of an emergency.
