Living Well with Diabetes – Community Support Group

Join peers, a Registered Nurse and a Registered Dietitian for chats and education on building knowledge, self-management skills, and support from each other on various topics related to your diabetes care. Topics include healthy eating, exercise, stress management, medication and more. Diabetes Cooking Workshops

Community Health Centres of Northumberland 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope, Ontario

Diabetes Cooking Workshops are hands-on cooking classes which are offered to those living with prediabetes, type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Each workshop will be conducted by a Registered Dietitian, who is also a Certified Diabetes Educator. Fee $5.00 per class (please call if cost is a concern) Budget Friendly Fall Foods Enjoy a taste of fall flavours as we prepare delicious dishes that are prepared using cheaper, in-season ingredients. Friday Sept 20th | 9:30am to 12pm | CHCN Community Kitchen Holiday Cooking We’ll prepare some holiday appetizers and treats that have a healthy, diabetes-friendly twist! Pre-Diabetes Workshop

Have you been recently diagnosed with prediabetes. This workshop includes a discussion of the basic facts about managing prediabetes, healthy eating, and physical activity. We also encourage you to set a goal to improve your health during the class. The Food Cupboard is open every Thursday from 9:30am to 12:30pm to in person visits. Please bring your own reusable bags or boxes. Are you a Primary Caregiver caring for an older adult and looking to connect with other caregivers? Women’s Health Event – Cervical Cancer Screening

Community Health Centres of Northumberland 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope, Ontario

We are excited to share we are planning a Women’s Health Event organized by the Ontario Health Team of Northumberland. This event is to offer cervical cancer screening, health talks, and educational information and support to those who may have barriers accessing screening and resources, such as unattached patients. As of March 3, 2025, HPV cervical screening testing has replaced Pap tests as the primary method for cervical cancer screening. More information about the changes can be found here; Cervical cancer screening updates In addition to cervical cancer screening, the event will feature: Information about other health and social services available in Northumberland County Guest speaker sessions on perimenopause and menopause, pelvic floor therapy, and cancer screenings Who Can Attend?  Individuals in need of cervical cancer screening who do not have a primary care provider & those facing challenges in accessing cervical screening services  Individuals wishing to attend the guest speaker sessions or learn more about women’s health services available within Northumberland County  Pre-registration for cervical cancer screenings is required.
