Nourishing people—and dignity. Because food is foundational to health—and choice matters.
CHCN’s food security programs include a shopping model food bank, affordable Food Markets, a Sharing Garden, and community meals. These programs address hunger while also building skills, confidence, and community connection. The CHCN has pledged to purchase a variety of fresh produce and lean proteins every week to offer in our weekly food cupboard to help supplement the staples we already offer.
Your donation helps ensure families, seniors, and individuals can access healthy, affordable food—while also supporting education, sustainability, and local food systems.
The CHCN Food Cupboard offers an in-person shopping model which allows community members to come and choose which foods or products are desired and or needed. As a health centre, our goal is to make as many fresh and whole foods available to community members – with a focus on local produce when possible.
Community members in need of support around food are welcome to visit our Food Cupboard on Thursdays from 9:30am – 12:30pm. No appointments are needed and there will always be a welcome space for individuals to enjoy a coffee and or snack!
Please bring your own reusable bags or boxes. We are located at 99 Toronto Rd, Port Hope – Main Floor in the Multi-purpose room.
For those looking to support our food security initiatives, cash donations are greatly appreciated as it enables us to work with our community partners to bring in more fresh and nutrient dense foods.

For anyone who was receiving delivery over the past few years, we are sorry that we can no longer provide this service due to a number of circumstances. However, we are very lucky to have the support of the Fare-Share Food Bank, who will help support community members with a delivered food box.
If you have any questions, concerns or need any assistance as we transition to a new model in supporting the community with access to food, please call the Community Health Centre at 905-885-2626 (extension 212 or 235).
