We’re Hiring! Yoga and/or Pilates Instructor
Part-Time Contract Position | Northumberland County, Ontario
Our Community Health Centre in Northumberland (CHCN) is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic Yoga and/or Pilates Instructor to lead welcoming, accessible movement classes that support the physical and mental well-being of community members.
Hours: Up to 3 hours per week. Pay Rate: $ 35-40
Location: Northumberland County, Ontario
The ideal candidate is passionate about community health, promotes health equity and inclusive participation, and can adapt activities to meet a range of abilities, experience levels, and individual needs. We welcome an instructor who can help reduce barriers to participation and create a safe, supportive environment where everyone feels welcome.
Key Competencies
Skills
- Ability to plan and deliver safe, engaging Yoga and/or Pilates sessions for participants with varying abilities.
- Strong communication and group facilitation skills to create a welcoming, supportive environment.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of yoga and/or Pilates principles, techniques, and safe movement practices.
- Understanding of how to adapt exercises to accommodate different fitness levels, mobility needs, and physical limitations.
Judgment
- Ability to recognize participants’ needs and modify activities appropriately to support safety and comfort.
- Ability to respond appropriately to participant concerns or signs of discomfort and work within the scope of the instructor’s role.
Accountability
- Maintain appropriate qualifications and certifications relevant to the discipline and current first aid training, as required.
- Arrive prepared and on time, maintain professional boundaries, and contribute to a respectful, inclusive environment.
Experience
Qualifications
- Relevant yoga and/or Pilates instructor training or certification.
- Experience leading group classes is an asset.
- A commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and community well-being.
- The ability to use software, including zoom is an asset.
- Posses their own liability insurance.
