Caregiver Support Group – Virtual

Are you looking to connect with other caregivers? This support group meets the first and third Friday of every month and provides information, support, and follow-up for active caregivers. Movement and Motion – Virtual

Designed for community members age 55+, who are wishing to improve their balance and range of motion regardless of their current ability level. The program will be led by trained volunteers, who ensure the program is run in a safe manner. Classes can be done seated or standing. Restorative yoga focuses on relaxation of the mind and body. Bolsters, straps and other props will be used to support the body in various postures which allows one to move towards a state of balance. Ursula will guide you through a floor based yoga practice from the comfort of your own home. Nordic Pole Walking

Come out and join our trained Nordic Pole Walking Instructors as they take you on a 30-45 minute walk around the neighbourhood. Participants will be shown how to properly use the poles and will be taken through a series of warm-ups before starting the walk. Please bring your own poles if you have them, we have a few poles that can be borrowed for the duration of the program and will be sanitized before and after each class. Spring Into the Garden – In Person

Whether you have never planted a seed or you consider yourself a master veggie gardener, come join Adam in the CHC Sharing Garden to help prepare this year’s growing season. Over the course of a number of dates, we will clean up from winter, prepare and amend the soil with our homegrown compost, start sowing spring crops and finally, transplanting our veggie starters! This group is meant for anyone looking to get their hands dirty, learn a few things around the garden, share some knowledge, and most importantly, work and have fun together! Participants limited (10 people) and ideally, you are interested in/able to attend all or most of the sessions. Have you been recently diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes? This workshop, now being done virtually over Zoom, includes a discussion of the basic facts about managing diabetes, healthy eating, and physical activity.
